Bioglitter™ HOLO launched with a new logo for festival organisers to identify biodegradable glitter

Ecologically-friendly glitter manufacturer, Ronald Britton Ltd, launches new TÜV Certified Fresh Water Biodegradable Holographic Bioglitter™, which is a certified freshwater-biodegradable holographic effect glitter product.  The new logo makes it straightforward to authenticate their products, helping festival organisers and festival-goers be sure they are using sustainable products.

With most responsible events looking to eliminating single-use plastic bottles it follows that they ban plastic glitter too. Bioglitter™ uses sustainably and ethically sourced natural and plant derived materials as its basis rather than plastic.  All their products are proven to biodegrade through independent ISO14851 and ISO14852 fresh water testing of the whole product, including core and coating.

Bioglitter™ HOLO range joins the list of TÜV Austria ‘OK biodegradable WATER’ certified products offered by Ronald Britton.  This level of certification is considered the highest of its kind in the world. The biodegradability tests at the heart of this certification are also specified by the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) in its proposed EU Microplastic legislation due to be published in 2022.  These tests are used to determine whether or not a polymeric material is considered a microplastic.

Bioglitter™ PURE, HOLO, Craft and Deco ranges are all independently accredited to TÜV OK biodegradable WATER standard

Stephen at Bioglitter comments:

“At Bioglitter we educate about microplastics and the part glitter has to play in environmental pollution, in order to empower brands and consumers to make informed purchasing decisions. We encourage the use of Bioglitter™ in applications where traditional plastic glitter can potentially threaten the environment e.g. cosmetic applications.

“All glitter ingredients are assessed in the accreditation process, the accreditation process also assesses potential for harm to the environment”

Andrew Thompson, Technical Director at Ronald Britton, said;

“Being able to differentiate Bioglitter™ from other glitter is becoming increasingly important for manufacturers as customers become more aware of the environmental impacts of ‘traditional’ glitter. And we’re proud to offer all our customers that peace of mind when they see the Ronald Britton’s registered Bioglitter™ logos on products made with Bioglitter™ which is now common on the high street and with big brands.

“Developing Bioglitter™ HOLO has been the most challenging product development yet, almost four years in the making. Needless to say, we’re delighted with what we have achieved, and to see it come to market with such high anticipation.”
